Course Detail: EMS-1006 - PreHospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Hybrid
PHTLS has been developed by NAEMT to provide the practicing prehospital and/or emergency care provider with a specific body of knowledge related to the prehospital assessment and care specifically of the trauma patient. PHTLS promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care. This 2-day provider course incudes lectures intertwined with skills and scenario practice. A certificate of completion from NAEMT will be awarded. This PHTLS course is offered in a hybrid format, where a portion of the course is taken online in an interactive, web-based class, followed by a one day face-to-face meeting for skill stations and patient simulations. Students will be emailed a link for the on-line portion of the course approximately 10 days before class. This course is based on the current NAEMT's PHTLS 9th edition curriculum. Students are required to obtain a current PHTLS book for this course. Books are available through multiple on-line sources. Prerequisite: Licensure as an EMS provider or nurse.
