T&L 2900: Personalized Small Group Literacy

Educators facing the challenge of meeting the diverse reading needs of learners will find the structure and tools they need in Jan Richardson's powerful approach to small group reading. Richardson has identified the essential components of an effective small group reading lesson: targeted assessments, data analysis that pinpoints specific strategies learners need, and the use of guided writing to support the reading process. Best of all, Richardson provides detailed lessons for readers at all grade levels and at all reading stages from emergent through proficient. Educators will study the small group reading lesson instructional strategies through the book, watch videos for implementation and reflection, and work side-by-side with an instructional coach to implement effective small group reading lessons. Educators will use their experiences and new learning from Jan Richardson to fully implement small group reading in the classroom.
