EDL 2900: TMMS Summer Professional Development 2025

The primary focus of training for both Educators and administrators will be communication and crucial conversations. Communication can be built and thrive through well-thought-out actions and strategies. There are 5 main areas we will plan and develop to ensure positive communication and build a positive learning environment for all.

These areas of communication training will include:
  1. Interpersonal & Verbal Communication - Active listening and feedback strategies, building relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  2. Public Speaking and Presentation skills - Delivering engaging lessons and presentations for both students and adults.
  3. Conflict Resolution - Managing conflict with students, parents, co-workers
  4. Stakeholder Communication - having open lines of communication with the local agencies and organizations that can assist our students and families.
  5. Perspective and Communication - everyone may have a different perspective.  How do we keep these perspectives in mind and understand the dynamics when communicating with others?
