This course will support teachers in their first year of teaching or new educators to the district at West Fargo Public Schools. Teachers will engage in practices that support student learning and teacher knowledge. Classroom management poses many challenges for new teachers and a focus on CHAMPS will be reviewed and discussed at each class. Teachers will also be given time to network with other new teachers, build relationships, and learn about WFPS's instructional practices to enhance their instruction. Teachers will increase their knowledge of getting started in teaching, technology, formative assessment, conferences, report cards, MTSS, and engagement. Teachers will be trained using collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity that will carry into the classroom. Instructional strategies will encourage engagement and 21st Century learning in the classroom while aligning curriculum based on the North Dakota State Standards.
