T&L 2900: Improving Tier 1 Instruction - TSI Improvement

Century Elementary (K-6 teachers) will participate in 15-hours of focused summer work sessions to strengthen Tier 1 instruction through the development of proficiency scales and aligned evidence of student learning.

This work will involve refining proficiency scales, learning targets, and aligned evidence to ensure clarity of expectations and consistency in instruction and assessment. During these workdays, teachers will:
  • Refine proficiency scales aligned to ND State Standards
  • Develop clear learning targets and learning intentions
  • Identify and calibrate evidence of student learning for each proficiency level
  • Align scales and evidence to standards-based grading practices within Infinite Campus
This work directly supports the schoolwide shift to standards-based grading and strengthens instructional clarity, which is a key driver of student achievement. The inclusion of the instructional coach provides leadership and ensures consistency across grade levels, facilitating alignment to district initiatives and evidence-based practices.

This investment builds teacher capacity in designing high-quality Tier 1 instruction in ELA and mathematics, ensuring all students, especially those in identified subgroups, have access to clear expectations and aligned assessments.
