T&L 2900: Restorative Practices (Book Study)

This course is designed to provide educators with foundational knowledge and practical strategies for implementing Restorative Practices and Circle processes in schools. Using the book Better Than Carrots or Sticks: Restorative Practices for Positive Classroom Management as the guiding text, participants will explore the principles of Restorative Practices, reflect on their current approaches to discipline, and develop actionable plans to create a more inclusive and respectful school culture. Largely, this course is discussion-based relying on three core questions:
  1. What are the high impact leaning moments from the text?
  2. What questions do we have regarding the text?
  3. What implications do these ideas have regarding our work in education?
