EDL 2900: Mt Pleasant Book Study

We will be doing a book study on 1% Better by Ron Clark. This will be going through each chapter to analyze and discuss what chapters meant to us and how we can incorporate them into our classroom or school setting. Each week we are planning to have project targeted to the reading that we will be implementing individually, at grade levels or school wide.

  • Discussion on implementation of projects related to the reading.
Week 2 - January 29
  • Discussion on Reading Chapters 4-6
  • Discussion on implementation of projects related to the reading.
Week 3 - February 5
  • Discussion on Reading Chapters 7-9
  • Discussion on implementation of projects related to the reading.
Week 4 - February 12
  • Discussion on Reading Chapters 10-12
  • Discussion on implementation of projects related to the reading.
Week 5 - February 19
  • Discussion on Reading Chapters 13-15
  • Discussion on implementation of projects related to the reading.
Week 6 - February 26
  • Discussion on Reading Chapters 16-18
  • Discussion on implementation of projects related to the reading.
Week 7 - February 5
  • Discussion on Reading Chapters 19-21

Week 8 - February 12

Week 9 - February 19

Week 15 - March 26

  • Discussion on implementation of projects related to the reading.
Other work includes 8 hours of reading and outside work on projects.

We will also have assigned reading and project times between weekly meetings. 8 reading/project sessions for 60 minutes or 8 hours.

Cancellation Policy

If UND receives the Course Withdrawal Form 7 or more calendar days before the learning event start date, the fee paid to UND Professional Development for Educators minus a $35 processing fee will be refunded. If the fee paid to UND is less than $100 the processing fee will be waived. NO REFUNDS are available if a withdrawal notification is received 6 or less calendar days before the learning event start date.
