Course Detail: MECT102 - Materials Engineering: Unveiling the Power of Energy - (Middle School) IN-PERSON

Materials Engineering: Unveiling the Power of Energy:

One of the most common forms of energy we see around us is Electrical energy. It powers up numerous applications like e gadgets, medical appliances, E-vehicles, lighten our home and what not. In this electronic world, isn't that interesting to know, how we generate this energy to satisfy our daily requirements.

Thus, this one week unique program will help students to know the concept of different energies, their form, uses and conversion. Making it more practical and useful, the course is narrowed down to the conversion of chemical and thermal energy into electrical energy. Students will be prepared to apply this learning to practical applications like working of batteries, and Peltier cells. DIY activities will broaden their energy concept and ignite scientific minds to come up with solutions for various current issues in energy sector. DYI activities may involve like arrangement of battery components, develop circuit and measure the battery output, working model to generate electricity form thermal energy, factors which effect battery performance, howto improve efficiency etc.

LUNCH: Students staying for full day or for both morning and afternoon sessions can bring or buy their lunch.  All students will eat lunch on Campus in The Commons, a small food court.
