OSHA 511 - Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry

This four-day course covers OSHA Standards, policies, and procedures in general industry. Topics include scope and application of the OSHA General Industry Standards, general industry principles and special emphasis on those areas in general industry which are most hazardous..

Required Materials: A current 29 CFR 1910 Regulation Manual is required for the class and the test. You may purchase from the UA OTI-ED Center when registering for the class. All other materials are provided.

PLEASE NOTE: If the class is Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) via Zoom, it is intended for persons who are previous customers or reside or work within the OSHA Birmingham Region which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida Panhandle, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. If you live or work outside of this region and are not a previous customer, we encourage you to seek virtual training within your Regional Authorized OTI Education Centers. Biography: Dennis Keplinger has been the Safety & Occupational Health Specialist/Manager for the Department of Army for over 19 years. He is currently serving as Chief, Training/Policy & Programs Division, U. S. ArmySafety Center, in Fort Rucker, Alabama. Dennis is responsible for developing safety training and policy for Army-wide implementation. He is responsible for directing the design and development of traditionalinstructor presented safety training and interactive computer-based training for distance learning. Mr. Keplinger has supervised the development of Army safety policy, regulations, and accident prevention programs. He has served in various safety professional positions at the Safety Center since 1991. Dennismanaged the Army Safety and OH Intern training program from 1991 - 1996.Prior to his assignment to the U. S. Army Safety Center, he was the Safety and OH Manager, U. S. Army HQ V Corps, in Frankfurt, Germany from1987 - 1991; Safety and OH Specialist, Aviation Center, Fort Rucker, Alabama, 1984 - 1987; and Safety and OH Specialist, Armor Center, FortKnox, Kentucky, 1981-1984. Dennis has been a training course instructor for OSHA 501, General Industry 10-Hour and 30-Hour OSHA. He is a Certified Safety Professional and is a member of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Mr. Keplinger is presently the President of the Wiregrass Chapter, American Society of Safety Engineers in Dothan, Alabama.
