Eastern settlers founded Tittabawassee Township and European and Canadian immigrants developed the embryo Loretto/Freeland into a self-sufficient town and an important hub for Saginaw, Bay, and Midland counties. The instructor will relive historic Freeland with third generation Freeland native Kittie Lewis' memoirs: Growing Up on the Banks of the Mighty Tittabawassee and Freeland's late historian Howard Vasold's research.
