Course Detail: CANTERBURY - 189 Chaucer: The Canterbury Tales Fragments I & II

This class will continue a study of The Canterbury Tales begun in previous OLLI offerings. This time, focus will be on the tales in Fragments I & II: Knight's, Miller's, Reeve's, Cook's, and Man of Law's. Again, text will be Middle English, but with emphasis on literature, not language. Class members will be encouraged to work with a modern English translation, as well. Please note: There is no prerequisite for enrollment. Whether an old hand or a new comer with interest in Chaucer, all are welcome. Course text: V. A. Kolve and Glending Olson, eds. Geoffrey Chaucer. The Canterbury Tales. 3rd ed. New York: W. W. Norton, 2018. ISBN 978-1-324-00056-3.
