Course Detail: WTLN111 - Lineworker Apprenticeship 1A

This hybrid, 75-hour course runs 15 weeks, 3 hours per week in a lab setting, and an additional 30 hours of training online. As a result of this training students will be able to describe the flow of electricity through a typical transmission and distribution system, describe the characteristics of basic electricity, including measuring inductance and capacitance in a circuit, differentiate between true, reactive, and apparent power in A/C systems, demonstrate appropriate safety practices in transmission and distribution maintenance, and demonstrate approved procedures for working with wooden poles, aerial equipment, derricks, and transformers.
