Course Detail: WTEM220 - Energy Modeling

This 45-hour course meets for 15 weeks, 3 hours per week. As a result of this training students will be able to; perform the steps involved in energy simulation of commercial buildings and generate energy simulation reports and output files. Discuss integrated energy design for commercial buildings; use modeling software to evaluate building envelope, window, and daylighting information; develop building schedule and load and energy use profiles; and calculate savings for Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) using energy simulation techniques.

Schedule: Energy Modeling is a Hybrid Class which will be facilitated online, via live webinar, and in-person. In-person sessions are held Wednesday evenings from 6-9:00PM in the Miller Free Enterprise Center (MFEC) Bldg. 3 Room 206 from Wednesday 01/14/2026 through Wednesday 03/04/2026, online coursework will be available in Canvas LMS, and participants will be made aware of webinar sessions by the instructor in advance.

Class will be held Wednesday evenings from 6-9pm in Building #3 of the SLCC Miller Campus which is the Miller Free Enterprise Center (MFEC) room 206. Class is scheduled for 8 sessions and will begin on Wednesday 01/14/2026 and end on 03/04/2026. Online coursework will be accessed the Canvas LMS at https://slcc.instructure.com/login/canvas/live webinar sessions will be announced by the instructor in advance as appropriate.
