Course Detail: WTEC120 - IPC J Standard Certification

The IPC J Standard Certification course is an industry standard program for hand and machine soldering process and material requirements. As a result of this training, students will be able to recognize general safety requirements, necessary tools, and effects of electrostatic discharge (ESD); create wire and terminal assemblies, solder and surface mount connections; identify general soldered connections, reflow soldering, and other machining requirements.   

Workmanship Requirement- This course requires that participants understand the basic concepts and materials associated with hand soldering and have electronics manufacturing soldering experience, the ability to complete Wires/Terminals, Thru-Hole/Surface Mount components assemblies.

Schedule: This 30 hour class runs from September 29, 2025- October 6, 2025. Students will attend class on the first day and then work with instructor to schedule lab times. Office Hours: M-TH 7:00-1:00pm, 3:00-9:00pm
