Course Detail: WTAU140 - Motors & VFD Systems

This 27-hour course teaches students basic motor theory, operation and safety. In addition, students will learn Allen Bradley VFD operation and safety. As a result of this course, students will be able to identify the four basic motor types, practice safety when using electric motors, wire delta & Y motors with both high and low voltage, build and test a motor control seal-in circuit, and create the required documents that allow a VFD to properly drive a motor.

Schedule: This is a hybrid, asynchronous course. Online content can be accessed anytime on Canvas, and labs will be scheduled directly with the instructors Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm. This course must be completed by 04/30/26
