Genetic Genealogy

This course provides a thorough introduction to the relatively young field of genetic research within a genealogical and ancestral context. Students will learn the basics of genetic genealogy and how it is used to resolve family history research cases. They will learn methodologies and best practices for Y chromosome (Ycs), mitochondrial (mtDNA) and autosomal DNA (atDNA) test results and how to apply this knowledge in extending and verifying traditional genealogical research.
