Course Detail: WTSS200 - Basic Solar Photovoltaic Systems
This 45-hour course meets 4 times every other week for 3 hours via live-webinar and in-person, over a 9-week period and for an additional 30 hours online over the same 9 -week period. Students who complete this course will be able to identify the basic OSHA standards concerning possible hazards frequently seen in Photovoltaic (PV) system installation; explain the general permit and inspection process, including local codes and regulations; demonstrate the different PV system sizing methodologies for existing and future loads; and create a sales presentation to include proper site survey, system design, components, pricing, monitoring, and benefits to a potential customer. This course is the second of two courses, in the Solar Sales Certificate program, or the second of three courses in the Solar Installation Certificate Program. Upon successful completion of the Solar Sales Certificate Program, students may qualify for entry-level positions, including Solar Sales Representative, Solar Site Assessor, Energy Consultant, Solar Consultant, or Solar Systems Designer.? ? Upon successful completion of the Solar Installation Certificate Program, students may qualify for entry-level positions, including Solar Technician, Solar Systems Installer, Solar Sales Representative, or Solar Maintenance Technician.
