Course Detail: WTCA100 - AutoCAD Fundamentals

This 48-hour course, meets twice a week over an eight-week period. Students develop the foundational skills needed to use AutoCAD tools to create technical drawings. Through hands-on application, students learn to navigate the AutoCAD interface and utilize fundamental drawing commands and techniques to create 2D drawings. As a result of this training student will be able to apply basic drafting techniques to create 2-dimensional mechanical and architectural drawings; draw with accuracy using tool icons, shortcut commands, and menus; insert existing content into new drawings; and manage viewports, layouts, printing, and plotting settings. This course qualifies students for the following two certificates Autodesk? Certificate of Completion for AutoCAD Fundamentals and the Workforce Training Certificate for AutoCAD Fundamentals. Upon successful completion of the certificate, students will qualify for entry-level positions, including Drafter, CAD Technician, and CAD Design Templator.
