Course Detail: WTSN231 - Substation Apprenticeship 3A

This 15-week course meets six times. As a result of this training course students will demonstrate safe usage of and discuss safety protocols for common tools and equipment; accurately diagram several types of common DC generators and their parts; read construction diagrams to determine material requirements, electrical connections, and to locate and plan routes required for electrical systems; discuss the purpose and common methods used in infrared condition monitoring; differentiate between three-phase and single-phase voltages and calculate the voltage and current values in single-phase and three-phase delta and wye circuits; and describe the relationship between resistance and capacitance in AC series circuits by connecting RC circuits in series and parallel, then use measuring and test instruments to assist in calculating the circuit's values.
