Course Detail: WTPE510 - Kinesiology for Activity
This 30-hour course meets over an 8-week period for 3.5 hours per week. As a result of this training, students will be able to implement fundamental kinesiology skills aligned with individual student development. Monitor and evaluate student motor skill progression in sports, dance and other physical education activities. Evaluate the components of biomechanical performance in youth physical activity, evaluate components of exercise physiology including heart rate, breathing, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance. Develop and implement various team sport lesson plans; monitor and evaluate student motor skill progression in sports, dance and other physical education skills; create and defend a personal philosophy of physical education; and evaluate components of exercise physiology including heart rate, breathing, muscle fatigue, flexibility, etc.
