Course Detail: WTHV110 - Introduction to HVAC Optimization

This 30-hour course meets 4 hours per week, one day per week, for 8 weeks. As a result of this training, students will be able to identify the purposes and criteria that HVAC systems are expected to meet and examples of energy conservation measures; describe the operations of various types of HVAC systems typically installed in small commercial and residential buildings; draw a schematic and identify the major components of heating and air conditioning systems for single zone packaged units; and calculate heat transfer rates, heating and cooling loads, building heat gains and losses, and air pressure drops.
