Course Detail: WTEN600 - Precalculus for Secondary Teachers

This 90-hour course meets twice a week (for 3 hours each class day) for 15 weeks. Class will be held via live webinar in the evening. As a result of this training, participants will be able to demonstrate a theoretical understanding and manipulative facility of functions including polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric; apply algebraic and trigonometric skills to the formulation and solution of "real-world" application problems; represent functions, equations, and systems of equations graphically through the use of graphing technology, and integrate the algebraic and graphic interpretation of these concepts; organize, present, and explain solutions to problems involving real-world applications in writing and/or oral presentations; and reflect on the application of algebra and trigonometry concepts in the secondary special education math classroom and the development of IEP's.
