Course Detail: PRS1 - The Highs and Lows of Medical Cannabis - 2 CEUs Available

The Highs and Lows of Medical Cannabis, Presenter - Kelsey Lynn Schwander, PharmD, Clinical Assistant Professor, SIUEMedical cannabis has received attention in the United States regarding laws and regulations, community controversies, and its use as a possible pharmaceutical agent. It is legal in 33 states and is here to stay. This training will help participants understand the role of cannabis in laws, culture, as a potential medical agent and impact on public health through a scientific approach. The participants will further understand how medical cannabis impacts their patients and social work practice. The training will include a combination of didactic lecturing, group discussions and active participation. Participants will be expected to listen and participate in group activities. This will enhance the participants understanding and ability to apply concepts to their practice sites.


2 CEU's will be awarded.


SIUE is an approved CEU provider by the State of Illinois for social work continuing education. If you are licensed/certified in any other state or province, please refer to the regulations in that state or province or the national board requirements to determine whether this will qualify for CEU credits.
