Course Detail: HOS6 - 43rd Annual Hospice Conference: Exploring Processes with Care and Connection before and After Death

Join us for an insightful and thought-provoking Hospice Conference designed for hospice professionals, caregivers, and healthcare providers. This year's sessions will feature a conceptual presentation and open discussion on a novel tool in palliative care known as "Emergency Intimacy (EI)"-a framework for understanding and responding to moments of deep emotional connection that arise in crisis care settings.

The conference will also explore the critical topics of Compassion Fatigue and Burnout, highlighting their signs, symptoms, and stages, as well as recent studies identifying the heightened risks faced by hospice nurses, providers, and support staff. Attendees will gain practical strategies to recognize, prevent, and manage these challenges while fostering resilience and renewal in their professional and personal lives.

Also included is Now What? Navigation the Choices After Death, Death doesn't have to mean defaulting to tradition. From home funerals and family-led care to green burial and body composting, this panel explores the full spectrum of after-death options available today. Whether you're planning ahead or facing loss now, we'll walk you through what's legal, what's possible, and what's meaningful - so you can choose what aligns with your values, not just what's expected.

Come connect, reflect, and recharge as we deepen our collective commitment to compassionate end-of-life care.
