Course Detail: LOPP - Robert Oppenheimer: Perspectives from SIUE Faculty
Since the recent release of the movie about Robert Oppenheimer, interest in him has greatly increased. Oppenheimer was an extraordinarily complex and brilliant man who drove the development of the atomic weapons that profoundly shaped the flow of history. And his career was ultimately brought to a halt by one of the darkest movements in American politics. Moderated by Dr. Jack Glassman, a panel of SIUE faculty from a diverse set of disciplines will discuss the events depicted in the film and their factual bases.
Sessions are $5 each for non-members and can be registered for individually. SIUE faculty, staff, and students can attend the Lifelong Learning Speaker Series for free.
If attendees prefer to attend virtually, please contact the program coordinator for the Zoom link. If there is a change in restrictions or guidelines, the Speaker Series will return to an online format, as needed.
