Course Detail: LCAH - Storytelling at Cahokia

Theatrical rituals drew Native Americans from hundreds of miles away to ancient Cahokia. Some stayed as immigrants, while others were adopted and went home as Cahokians. Stories gave meaning to all these rituals, and storytelling itself was the most important of these rituals. I will talk about the archaeological, ethnographic, and other evidence for this, emphasizing Native American voices whenever possible.

Sessions are $5 each for non-members and can be registered for individually. SIUE faculty, staff, and students can attend the Lifelong Learning Speaker Series for free.

If attendees prefer to attend virtually, please contact the program coordinator for the Zoom link. If there is a change in restrictions or guidelines, the Speaker Series will return to an online format, as needed.
