Course Detail: NPG1 - Non-Profit Leadership Series: Governance

A sound structure is critical for a thriving organization. This course will reinforce the foundational governance practices necessary for leading a successful non-profit organization, and is designed to satisfy the needs of both staff and board of directors. Topics include the fiduciary responsibility of directors, the difference between governance and management, appropriate policies and procedures, bylaws, strategic planning, organizational charts, directors and officers insurance, board orientation and training, leadership manuals and board tools, codes of ethics, conflict of interest, Roberts Rules of Order, governance models, and terminology unique to non-profits.
