Course Detail: IMS5 - IMPACT Suicide Fall Conference
This conference will provide an opportunity for community members and professionals to learn resources and methods for reducing the number of lives to suicide. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), as of 2022, suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the U.S. Additionally in 2022, there was an estimated 1.6 million suicide attempts. Of the adults surveyed by AFSP, 94% think that suicide can be prevented and this conference will raise awareness about resources available locally and nationally for you to use to help people that you know. This presentation will bring together speakers who engage the audience emotionally through personal experience, educate through data-driven information, and teach best practices in breakout sessions designed for specific participants - parents, nursing and mental health professionals, community members, and students. A highlight of the conference will be a forum exploring resources available in our community and how to access these resources.
