Course Detail: ODY2 - Odyssey 2: Voyagers (Entering Grades 3-4)
Odyssey Science Camp provides area youth an opportunity to experience the excitement of science firsthand. Participants are divided into groups by age and experience. Lab activities are mixed with recreational periods for a well-rounded summer camp experience. Topics and activities include the introduction to scientific principles, building math skills through games, "crime scene" investigations, building and programming robots, renewable energy, and launching model rockets.
Odyssey 2-Voyagers (Students entering grades 3-4)
Extend your stay and explorethis planet we inhabit! Rocket launching, creating circuits and playing withscience are the standards for the week. More than just an egg drop and slimeparty, our campers experience real scientific demonstrations and come away witha little more understanding about how their world works and the importance ofcritical thinking!
Recreation
Two recreational periods are scheduled daily with swimming planned for the afternoon period. Alternate activities will be offered for campers who choose not to swim. These may include board games, nature walks and "Talk Nerdy to Me" chats to learn the importance of science communication.
Lunch
Participants must bring a sack lunch including a drink. The camps eat at noon in the Morris University Center and parents are welcome to join the group.
