No image available Biography: Born and raised in Grayson, Louisiana I have always felt a strong connection to the community and culture of Louisiana. Which lead to further interests in human interaction and traditions in other countries. I participated in a study abroad program that took place in Salvador, Brazil and another in Florence, Italy. During these trips I was able to discover different connections that related back to the history of Louisiana. In December 2013, I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA where I contrasted in sculptural and wearable design. In 2019, I graduated with a Master of Fine Arts, concentrating in jewelry and metalsmithing techniques at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. After graduation I journeyed to NYC where I had the opportunity of being botanical jewelry artist Michael Michaud's assistant. I worked alongside Michael creating castings, molds, collections, and marketing designs. During COVID the factory that we were stationed at shut down, leaving me to look for work elsewhere. During the following year I had several different positions, for example freelance work as a photography teacher, visiting Art Instructor for Oakland City University, and kids and teens jewelry teacher for Kimball Art Center. This allowed me to experience different areas, learning abilities, and strategies for teaching art. In August 2021, I took the leap of returning to NYC and accepting the position as Jewelry Technician at Pratt Institute. Currently, I am working on a new collection that involves recent travels. Focusing on road signs, modern patterns, nature, and city features. I plan to explore the movement and change of forgotten or unrememberable marks on the land through jewelry.
