Goddess power and the divine feminine have been depicted in art of all media since the Old Stone Age when the Venus of Willendorf and other fertility goddesses were created. Beyond the female/femme form, goddess power has been associated with fertility, motherhood, love, sexuality, war, creation and death. In this weekend workshop, we will draw inspiration from archetypal goddesses from cultures across the globe and intersectional feminist/LGBTQ+ contemporary artists who reimagine the divine feminine. Participants will create artwork in a variety of media, in response to prompts designed to elicit research and personal experience of goddess power.
