Interior designers use drawing to conceptualize and represent spatial ideas. Learn to use drawing and two-dimensional media to observe, document, and reimagine interior spaces. Through the development of a course project, create plans, sections, elevations, and three-dimensional drawings, as well as develop presentation skills through in-class assignments and group critiques.

This studio course will take students through the basics of interior design and space planning while creating two to three projects that will be ready to be placed ina portfolio. This course will introduce some of the key concerns of the contemporary interior, such as sustainability and changing technologies. Prerequisites: XGID-105 and XGID-109 or permission of instructor.

February 1, 2021 to April 5, 2021, Online
This course introduces students to Rhinoceros as 3D visualization tool for Interior Architectural design. The focus is to enable you to utilize tools and methods to enhance your ability to explore, experiment, and represent in 3D. Understand the basic format and layout of the program and know it's the limitations. Learn 3D modelling of interior spaces, setting up 3D views, and basic Rhino rendering visualization.

February 7, 2021 to April 11, 2021, Online
Now that you understand the fundamentals of design, it's time to have fun by converting a concept into reality! This course will take an in-depth look at how to identify popular styles in decor, customize and specify materials for a project, and how to construct and stay on budget. Interior Designer, Ike Cheung, will take you on a journey of how to develop an existing space by understanding human behavior, applying everyday function into a design, and finally using scale and proportion. There will also be a focus on basic color theory and customization of furniture and decor.Requirements for this course: Completion of Interiors For Beginners. Fundamentals of drawing a floor plan and elevations. Understanding the basic terminology of Interior Design.
