Ideas & Motivation in the Visual Arts Part 2

This class will take a lively look at some of the movers and shakers of the previous century and how their ideas are connected to present day art practice, especially as it relates to art's changing role in the contemporary scene. Selected readings will include writings by Susan Sontag, John Berger, and Carl Jung as well as more off-the-mainstream people such as Ayn Rand. Meets once a week to discuss and share insights. Prerequisite: XFA-125 : Ideas and Motivation In The Visual Arts, or permission of instructor.
