Design For Health and Wellness I

This course serves as an introductory overview of design for health and wellness to enhance the quality of life of diverse audiences. Investigate ways to assess and enhance private, commercial, and public spaces while examining the relationships between the environment, physical & psychological conditions for health, behavior theories, spatial design, industry standards and best practices. Students will learn to develop basic prototypes and to complete a research-based design proposal for health and wellness in response to a specific design challenge. This course can be taken individually or as the first prerequisite course in the Design for Health & Wellness certificate program that is comprised of 6 core required courses.
