ALR23 - 2023 Annual License Renewal Seminar

Earn 20 hours of CE in several topics that relates to the clinical practice of chiropractic. Offered in person or as a live webinar and moderated by Joseph Ferezy, DC and Robert Gustafson, DC. The agenda includes 1 professional boundaries hour, 1 abuse recognition hour, and 4 X-ray hours.

Included will be the need for and methods to objectify the necessity for care. Evidence-based diagnostic and management considerations related to neurology, ethics, professional boundaries, and diagnostic imaging will be presented.

Using a symposia format with animated slides, clinical cases, and multiple presenters, this seminar includes a number of brief, concise, and clinically relevant topics.

To Register:

Choose the delivery method you will do each day. Please consider your licensing requirements when you choose. Some have restrictions about the number of hours you can earn in the live webinar format.
Select "not attending on that day" for days you will not be attending.
You will receive a confirmation letter for each session, if you choose to attend virtually it will include a link to Zoom.

Joseph Ferezy

Biography:

Joseph S. Ferezy, DC,FIACN is a native of New York City, New York. He is a graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic (NWCC), where he received certification in meridian therapy, including acupuncture. Dr. Ferezy later served as an instructor, and ultimately as an assistant professor at NWCC.

He is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Academy of Neurology and a Fellow of the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology. He is author of the chiropractic textbook, "The Chiropractic Neurological Examination" by Aspen Publishers. Dr. Ferezy has published many professional articles, and was awarded a 2nd place "Best Scientific Paper Award" by the American Chiropractic Association Journal of Chiropractic.

Dr. Ferezy has been the program coordinator and lead lecturer for the Neurology Diplomate Programs for Northwestern Health Science University, New York Chiropractic College and Palmer Chiropractic University. Dr. Ferezy has been the key speaker at hundreds of professional lecture engagements including several international engagements.

He has served as a test developer and proctor for the Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He has performed hundreds of peer reviews and independent medical examinations and regularly serves as an expert witness in matters such as malpractice. He has also served as a chiropractic expert on behalf of the State of Iowa.

Dr. Ferezy is immediate past-president of the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology, and has maintained a private practice of chiropractic for over 20 years. His chiropractic practice currently employs a wide range of complementary and alternative treatments including manipulation, acupuncture, decompressive traction, and other chiropractic physiotherapies at the Ferezy Clinic of Chiropractic and Neurology, located in Windsor Heights, Iowa.

John Wolfe, Jr.

Biography: John Wolfe is a third generation chiropractor who spent two decades practicing law before returning to Northwestern as a full time faculty member. While practicing law, he represented DCs in professional discipline cases in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and the Dakotas and served as a compliance consultant to chiropractic practices.

Michelle Mick

Biography: Michelle A Wessely (Mick), BSc (Chiro), DC, DACBR, DipMEd graduated from the radiology residency/DACBR (chiropractic radiology) program in 2000 in the UK. She completed her research fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at the University of San Diego, California under Professor Donald Resnick studying and publishing on conditions such as Erdheim Chester disease and MR related topics. The following year she became the director of radiology at the Institut Franco-Europeen de Chiropratique (IFEC) in Paris, where she was director of the academic program and also the clinical service, for both campuses in Paris and Toulouse. Michelle has published actively for the past few years, presented at prestigious radiology conferences, such as RSNA and ARRS, and has completed further short fellowships in MR imaging with Dr Pomeranz. She has recently published a book on MR imaging for clinicians. Michelle is an active lecturer in Europe and North America, both in English and French. She also has a busy clinical interpretation service available for practitioners requiring second opinions and patients who would like further imaging interpretations.

Amy Horton

Biography: Amy Horton, D.C., is a 2000 graduate from Northwestern Health Sciences University's College of Chiropractic. She completed her undergraduate studies at Carleton College in 1996. Since receiving her doctorate degree, Amy became certified in the Webster Technique and pursued post-graduate credentialing with a Neurology Diplomate. She holds Fellowship status with the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology.She enjoys treating patients of all ages, from birth to 100 at the Northwestern Health Clinic, Bloomington Campus, as well as mentoring interns in their final year of study. She encourages patients to contribute to their own health care needs and believes that sharing patients with providers of different disciplines often provides the fastest and fullest path to good health.Outside of clinic, Dr. Horton has two teens and a large extended family to keep her busy. She enjoys volunteer work, spending time outdoors, expanding her repertoire of gluten free baking, and finding ways to stay active.
