Biography: Sabine Wilms, PhD, is the author and translator of more than a dozen books on Chinese medicine. In addition to writing, translating, and publishing her work through her company Happy Goat Productions, she lectures around the world and mentors students through her mentorship program at imperialtutor.com. She also runs the world's only rigorous intensive training program on classical Chinese for practitioners of Chinese medicine (translatingChinesemedicine.com). Some of her favorite topics are gynecology, pediatrics, medical ethics, and "nurturinglife" as envisioned in the Chinese medical classics. Her publications include translations of Sun Simiao's writings on pediatrics (Venerating the Root); of the Divine Farmer's Classic of Materia Medica (Shennong Bencao Jing); and of two books on Wang Fengyi's system of "Five Element Virtue Healing" (Let the Radiant Yang Shine Forth and Twelve Characters); and a translation and discussion of the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic (Huang di Nei Jing Suwen) chapter five (Humming with Elephants); of the Fuxing jue zangfu yongyao fayao (Celestial Secrets) and of Qi Zhongfu's Hundred Questions on Gynecology (Nuke, Bai Wen, published as Channeling the Moon). Dr. Wilms is known for her historically and culturally sensitve approach to Chinese Medicine, but also sees it as a living, effective, ever-changing, and much needed response to the issues of our modern times. She lives happy as a clam with her goats, chickens, and other wild and domesticated animals on Whidbey Island near Seattle, WA.

Biography: Colleen Moore L.Ac. Dipl.Ac., Licensed Acupuncturist, NCCAOM Certified has been a pioneer in health education since 1986, having taught everything from group fitness (including yoga) to Oriental Medicine. Over the past 28 years, Colleen has delighted in the opportunity to teach students,professionals and members of the community. Colleen's passion, and ability to distill and disseminate information make her an enthusiastic and gifted educator. In 1997 and 1998 she taught Acupressure and Introduction to Chinese Medicine at the College of St. Catherine. She was adjunct faculty at Northwestern Health Sciences University from 1996 to 2002, teaching Introduction to Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture Point Location, Japanese Style Diagnostics and Treatment, and Chinese Food Therapy.
Today, Colleen is stoking the fires of her students at Northwestern Health Sciences University as a clinical supervisor. Colleen also works in the community teaching a variety of self-care classes intended to elevate men, women, and children to higher levels of health.
Colleen's passion for holistic medicine first emerged through her studies at The College of St.Catherine. After graduating from The College of St. Catherine in 1988 with a BA in English and Certificates in both Health and Wellness Counseling and Holistic Therapies, she began her holistic medicine career as a practitioner of Jin Shin Do Acupressure. In 1993, she received her Masters of Oriental Medicine from the Minnesota School of Acupuncture and Herbal Studies and began her lifework of acupuncture and herbal medicine.
Women and children's health,Japanese style acupuncture and 5 Element Theory are among Colleen's specialties. These specialties have been highlighted in both her 26 years of private practice and in her teaching. Colleen's most treasured and integral part of her career has been her ability to enlighten and empower others with the potency and wisdom of Oriental Medicine, through direct and practical ways of living in harmony with the Elements and one's constitution. Biography: Michael Egan is alicensed acupuncturist in Minnesota practicing at the Penny George Institutefor Health and Healing. Biography: Jenny Nieters, L.Ac. DACM has a clinical practice in Alameda, California, specializing in the assessment and treatment of sports injuries, pain and athletic performance. Dr. Nieters is a team acupuncturist for the San Francisco 49ers Football team and the Saint Mary's College Men's Rugby team.
She has been teaching continuing education for acupuncturists as part of Whitfield Reaves' Sports Medicine Apprenticeship program and has also developed her own courses for advanced study of sports injuries and athletic performance. Biography: Heather Peterman is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a nationally board certified acupuncturist practicing in Wisconsin. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Racine Wisconsin and completed her doctoral work through the college's Chicago, Illinois campus. Dr. Peterman served as the medical director of her practice, Sana Acupuncture and Apothecary, for close to a decade before choosing to leave private practice to join a hospital based integrated medicine team. As an acupuncturist within the Advocate Aurora Health Care system, Dr. Peterman serves in woman's health, oncology, and orthopedic/neurosurgery. She has helped launch new acupuncture programs embedded in a hospital-based fertility clinic, cancer care clinic, physical medicine and rehabilitation program, orthopedics, and neurosurgery back and spine programs. Through her work with the integrated medicine team, she has helped advance the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She strives to honor the traditional teachings of this medicine while creating ways to eliminate the gap in communication with eastern or allopathic medicine providers. Biography: Dr. Yubin Lu is one of the earliest earners of Ph.D. degree in Chinese Medicine in the world. He graduated from Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (a leading Chinese medicine university in China)in 1986 with a bachelor's degree, then in 1989 with a master degree and in 1993with a Doctorate degree. He has 28 years consistent clinical practice, teaching and researching experience, as well as numerous publications in both Chinese medicine theory and clinical practice. In his long history of practice, he has successfully treated thousands of patients with different conditions, such as pain conditions, emotional stress, anxiety, digestive disorders, infertility, sinusitis, prostatitis, female disorders, skin disorders, asthma, allergies, etc. he developed unique, highly effective treatment for lower back pain, shoulder pain, acute sinusitis, acute prostatitis and chronic colitis. He served as the Academic Dean at American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for 15 years before he moved to Portland, OR. Now, he is a full-time professor at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, and a licensed acupuncturist in Oregon, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Biography: John Pirog, MSOM, Dipl. Ac., Dipl. C.H. has been teaching and practicing acupuncture and Chinese medicine since 1983. In addition to his private practice, he has practiced at Lincoln Hospital in New York City, and at Cook County Hospital, Gateway House and St. Basil's Free People's Clinic in Chicago. He is currently a Professor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University.

Biography: Dr. Brett Martin is a chiropractor with a Master of Science in Acupuncture. He is a graduate of the National University of Health Sciences. He also has a Master of Public Health degree. He has published several journal articles. Many of these articles are available online through the National Library of Medicine (NIH). He gained clinical experience as an intern in the Salvation Army Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation center, Martin Chiropractic Clinic (a family practice), a post-traumatic stress disorder clinic, Living Well Cancer Resource Center, John Stroger Hospital Pain Management Department, in private practice at the National University of Health Sciences Whole Health Clinic in Pinellas Park, FL and is the acting Chief Clinician of the Veteran's Clinic since September of 2018. Dr. Martin is currently lecturing for National University of Health Sciences as an instructor of Human Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Toxicology, Evaluation of the Modern Diet, Nutritional Biochemistry, Botanical Medicine I and II and the Acupuncture certification program. He has taught Anatomy and Physiology I and II lecture and lab, Biochemistry, Nutrition and Biology as an adjunct for Purdue University Global, St. Petersburg College and Georgia Military College.
