FCPA8 - Florida Chiropractic Physician Association Virtual Seminar

FCPA's August 8th - 10th, 2025 Zoom Virtual CE Seminar. As the number one chiropractic association focusing on expanding chiropractic laws in Florida; FCPA offers many important services to the modern DC, including exceptional continuing education classes. Chiropractic continuing education is one of the paramount functions of the FCPA. FCPA's CE seminars focus on expanding chiropractic education and FL chiropractic rights as a doctor so DCs can work side by side with MDs and DOs We have hosted over 30 major Continuing Education seminars and numerous minor ones in Florida in the past 13 years. Attendance has varied from 300 to 900 attendees. The classes at majority of our seminars vary, but are all related to what the modern DC needs to know in order to provide excellent chiropractic care to their patients. Specific areas of education would include, but not be limited to: Acupuncture, HIV/Aids, Nutrition, Ethics and Boundaries Risk, Medical Errors, Documentation, Coding and Recordkeeping and numerous general classes ranging from Chiropractic Technique, Clinical Interventions, Principles of Chiropractic, Orthopedics and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and many others.

James Lehman

Biography: Dr. Lehman is a board-certified, chiropractic orthopedist, tenured, associate professor of Clinical Sciences, and director of the only three-year, full-time neuromusculoskeletal medicine residency program leading to board certification as a chiropractic orthopedist. He has taught post-graduate chiropractic orthopedics since 1998. Lehman has been recognized as Academician of the Year by the American Chiropractic Association and Professor of the Year by the University of Bridgeport, School of Chiropractic. Currently, Lehman is the Director of the University of Bridgeport Clinics and the Community Health Clinical Education Department. He provided sports medicine, clinical rotations for fourth-year chiropractic students with the Bridgeport Bluefish professional baseball team for 10 years. While practicing in New Mexico, he mentored fourth-year University of New Mexico medical students. Currently, Lehman is credentialed as a chiropractic specialist with the Community Health Center, Inc. of Middletown, Connecticut.

R. Ernest Cohn

Biography:

Dr. R. Ernest Cohn, received his Doctorate in Chiropractic (D.C.) and X-Ray proficiency in 1977 from the Palmer College of Chiropractic, his Medical Doctorate (M.D.) degree from UNIREMHOS School of Medicine in 1997 and his Naturopathic Medical Doctor (N.M.D.) degree from American University of Integrative Medicine in 2001. Additionally he has an A.S. and a B.S. degree in the Sciences. Additionally

Dr. Cohn has completed many programs advancing his clinical skills including the following certification programs.

Certified as an Examiner in Neurovascular diagnosis through the International Academy of Neurovascular Diagnosis in 1981.
Certified (Initial) in the Evaluation and Rating of Permanent Impairment of the Whole Person through the National College of Chiropractic in 1984.
Certified in Meridian Therapy and Acupuncture - National College of Chiropractic in 1983.
Certified in Industrial Injury Analysis and Prevention N.C. A. & T. University 1985.

Timothy Mirtz

Biography:

Dr.Mirtz is currently an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department ofSecondary and Physical Education at Bethune-Cookman University in DaytonaBeach, Florida.

His area of teaching expertise is Biomechanics/Kinesiology, Adapted PhysicalEducation, Motor Learning and Development and Elementary Physical EducationMethods. Dr. Mirtz also possesses specialized background in health/exercisescience, clinical sciences, health education, and preventive medicine/publichealth. Currently, he is teaching Exercise Physiology, Pathophysiology ofExercise, and Kinesiology/Biomechanics and Senior Research Seminar and haspreviously taught Motor Learning and Development, Adapted Physical Education,and Introduction to Sports Medicine. He has also taught Elementary PhysicalEducation Methods and Care & Prevention of Athletic Injuries.

Dr. Mirtz's research interests cover three areas: child physical activity,physical education methods and alternative health methods. Currently, he is workingwith the College of Health Sciences with the Disparities in Arthritis Pain andPhysical Activity (DAPPA). He is also the Director of the Motor SkillsEducation Program & Clinic.

Dr. Mirtz has taught in higher education since 2004 and has experience teachingelementary and secondary PE in charter public schools and private Christianelementary schools as well as serving as an adapted physical educator forcommunity based educational organizations along with being a PE TeacherEducation coordinator. He also teaches post-graduate continuing educationthrough the Florida Chiropractic Physician's Association. Topics presentedinclude "cardiopathology", "neuroplasticity and pain" and"clinical approaches to working with individuals with disabilities".
