No image available Biography: Elizabeth (Betsy) Board, MD is the founder of Atlanta Functional Medicine in Alpharetta, GA. She is trained and became board-certified in Anesthesiology, completing fellowships in Obstetric Anesthesia at Emory and Pain Medicine at Stanford University. After returning to Atlanta from a faculty position at Stanford, she practiced as a Board-Certified Pain Management Physician and developed an interest in alternative pain relief methods, including acupuncture and functional medicine. Dr. Board is the second physician to become certified in functional medicine in Georgia and is certified through the American Board of Holistic and Integrative Medicine. She serves the Institute for Functional Medicine as a mentor and facilitator for practitioners in training and was recently chosen to teach functional medicine approaches to chronic pain and PTSD to Armed Forces physicians. She is a contributing editor for "The Alternative Sourcebook: Kinds" and "The Alternative Sourcebook: Pain Relief", both published in 2015.
