CAHC2501 - Chiropractic Acupuncture Hybrid Certificate #1 of 4
This 23-hour session and its six-hour online component serves as an introduction to acupuncture. You will access the online portion of the training in our Moodle platform. This is the outline for the in person part of the training.
3.0 Hours: Back Shu, Front Mu (Alarm) points, Laws of Excess and Deficiency, PulseDiagnosis, Imbalances in nature and the change of seasons and the influencesthat they have on the human body. Practical demonstration of commonlyused acupuncture points and patterns including Dr. Jon Sunderladge's patterns Iand II.
CleanNeedle Technique
1.0 Hours: Clean needle technique (CNT) is demonstrated andpracticed; emphasis is placed on safety, hygiene, proper needle sterilizationand disposal of bio-hazardous waste.
2.0 Hours: Examinations (practical) on clean needle safety and hygiene.
Meridians I
2.0 Hours: Twelve main meridianlocations, function and usage are described.
15.0 Hours: Twelve main meridians aredescribed with emphasis on CV, GV, LU, LI, ST, SP, HT, SI. Discussion ofmeridian pathways (superficial and deep), location of their acu-points andclinical applications. Extensive supervised laboratory practicum, which willprovide attendees with hands-on time to practice point location and properneedle insertion techniques.
