Course Detail: HI5000 - Home Inspection Module 5: (40 Hours) (Code#P-0150)
40 hours of supervised home inspections. The first class session will be held at either the Rockville Centre or Suffolk Center campus. Field Training will usually be scheduled four times a year, after the end of each set of classroom modules: from June - July, November - January, February - April and April - June. Field training is usually not conducted in August, September or October. The field training will mostly be done on Saturdays and/or Sundays and/or evenings. Prerequisites: Modules 1-4; Open only to Molloy Students.
Molloy students who wish to have their house used for a home inspection will have their tuition discounted by $100. Please email Louis Cino at: lcino@molloy.edu if you wish to have your home used.
At the first class the instructor will spend the first hour going over how the field training will be organized, what will be expected of the students, what they will do on the inspections, what to do if they can't make a session, etc. The students will meet with the instructor to conduct supervised home inspections at selected locations. The instructor will arrange a number of inspections and will advise the students as to the schedule for the rest of the sessions. However, if you find that you cannot make the required 40 hours' worth of inspections during that particular session you will be allowed to register for an additional upcoming session, at no additional cost, to make-up the required 40 hours' worth of inspections.
Please note that because you will be going out to do home inspections you will need a car. Transportation to and from the houses is not provided for by the college.
