Course Detail: IVTH - LPN IV Therapy Certification

Innovative 8-week online class includes 30 hours of online theory and one (1) required 4-hour face-to-face skills validation session. Designed for an LPN to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to perform selected components in the management of intravenous therapy. Cost includes lab supplies. Must have a current LPN license to begin the course.

Students will utilize Blackboard to access the course online. Students with an active Blackboard account will use their current login credentials to access the course. All other students will be assigned temporary-use login credentials. Access to the online course will not be provided until we have your LPN license number on file.

A skills validation session is typically scheduled to occur the final week of the course. This lab will take place in Devils Lake, ND at the Bergstrom Technical Center, Lake Region State College. A preceptor site can be set up at a location closer to you if completing your skills validation session in Devils Lake, ND is an issue. Please call 701-662-1578 for more information.

A certificate of completion and 30 ND Board of Nursing-approved contact hours will be awarded following successful course completion.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation more than 5 days prior to start of training results in a 25% cancellation fee based on the class fee. Cancellation 5 days or less to the start of training results in no refund.

Schedule: Class consists of 8 weeks of online coursework in Blackboard (https://online.lrsc.edu/) in addition to one hands-on skills lab. The online course will begin September 8, 2025 and end November 2, 2025. Students with a Blackboard account will access the course by using their current login credentials. If you do not have a current Blackboard account, a temporary account will be created for you the week prior to class start. Once an account has been created for you, you will receive two emails from NDUS on how to access your account. Please check your junk mail for the emails. The hands-on skills lab will occur at the end of the course. A lab in Devils Lake, ND will be available. If you do not live close to Devils Lake, you may utilize a preceptor to complete the lab portion of the course. Preceptors require pre-approval from the instructor with a signed agreement.
