Course Detail: IWR1 - Report Writing

This course is being offered as a non-credit training option for correctional officers in North Dakota and is held in conjunction with the Lake Region State College Peace Officer Training Program.

This course is a great fit for those who have never taken a report writing class or simply need a refresher. Those who will benefit from this class are law enforcement, firefighters, emergency responders, security guards, and those looking to strengthen their ability to write incident reports in the workplace.

Course Objectives:
  1. Learn professional report writing standards and how to write objectively.
  2. Learn how to simplify report writing.
  3. Learn how to write reports that are complete, useful to supervisors, and simple to read.
Course Outline:
Pre-Training Writing Exercise
Watch video of mock crime scene and write an incident report.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation more than 5 days prior to start of training results in a 25% cancellation fee based on the class fee. Cancellation 5 days or less to the start of training results in no refund.
