Course Description:

Ron returns with an 8-week music appreciation class with two topics!

OPERETTAS: The Link between the Opera and the American Musical 

The operetta started in the late 1800s and as an art form died in the early 1900s although the songs still remain today. This 4-week course will examine the operettas of 6 composers in which participants will hear songs they've heard before but with a new back story!

The Different Sounds of Classical Music 

This 4-week course will explore the various classical pieces based on the time period they were written and why they sound as they do. Via video, participants will hear and experience music of the Early Ages, the Renaissance, the Baroque, the Classical, the Romantic and Post Romantic, and of Contemporary Eras.
