Innovation and Technology Camp

Camp Fee: $130
Date: July 8-10, 2026
Time: 9 AM - 4 PM
Ages: High School Students (14 to 16)
Location: Governors State University

Description: This 3-day camp has four sections that teach these subjects: 3D printing/Scanning, 3D Modeling for Games, Animation, and Design, Game Design/AI Tools, and AnyLogic Machine Learning.

3D Printing and 3D Scanning Camp:
Led by: Professor Shukmei Oh, Dr. Jianwei Hao, Dr. Andrius Tamulis, Innovation Club faculty and students, and the FTC team
This hands-on camp introduces students to the exciting world of 3D printing and 3D scanning. Participants will explore AI-assisted 3D printing and 3D scanner research, search for 3D models online, and bring them to life through printing. Students will also design and create personalized 3D prints, including multi-color and multi-copy projects for educational use. The camp emphasizes creativity, experimentation, and real-world applications of emerging technologies.

3D Modeling for Games, Animation, and Design Camp:
Instructor: Professor Ya-Lu Lin
In this three-day introductory workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of creating 3D models for games, animation, and digital media. Using professional 3D software, participants will build simple models, apply materials and textures, and experiment with lighting and camera setups to create a complete scene. Designed for beginners, this workshop focuses on creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning in digital design.

Game Design and Learning Using AI Tools Camp
Instructor: Professor Alex Liu
This camp introduces students to game design concepts enhanced by modern AI tools. Participants will explore how artificial intelligence can support creativity, learning, and interactivity in game development, gaining hands-on experience with AI-assisted design workflows.

AnyLogic Machine Learning Camp
Instructor: Dr. Yunchuan Liu
This software-focused camp leverages AnyLogic to build a simulation environment for supply chain collaboration between drones and trucks in the low-altitude flight domain. Students will use the platform to model complex systems and integrate machine learning techniques to identify optimized outcomes. Simulation results can be visualized intuitively within AnyLogic, creating a high-quality demo platform. The experience is especially valuable for students interested in entrepreneurship, startups, or securing investment."
