Time: 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. 

Course Description: Governors State University is hosting Blues Kids fun from July 14 to 17, 2025! Campers will be guided through basic music skills necessary to play proficiently and effectively in a music community and be introduced to the art of live professional performance! This program is ideal for any child passionate about music. All are welcome! Registration will close at 50 participants!

  • Ages: Middle and High School Students (11 to 16)
  • Location: Governors State University
  • Lunch and snacks are included in registration!
  • Children should bring their instruments! Arrangements can be made for kids without.

Blues Camp will cover important aspects of live performance, including: 

  • Music Literacy
  • Accompaniment 
  • Ensemble
  • Sound Leveling
  • Blues Cord Patterns
  • Call and Response
  • Practical Application of Skills
  • Creating a Set
  • Getting in the Groove!
