Course Description:
This intensive 15-hour workshop is designed to equip students with the core components of emotional intelligence necessary for successful independent living and workforce retention. Moving beyond basic social skills, this course dives into the internal and external mechanisms of self-regulation and interpersonal connection. Through role-playing, interactive discussions, and visual modeling, students learn to navigate the complexities of adult relationships and professional environments.

Key Learning Modules:
  • Emotional Identification & Regulation: Utilizing tools (such as the Zones of Regulation) to identify personal triggers and applying coping mechanisms to manage anxiety, frustration, and stress in real-time.
  • Social Perception & Nuance: Instruction on reading non-verbal cues, body language, and the "unwritten rules" of social and professional settings.
  • Boundaries & Consent: A clear framework for understanding personal space, appropriate touch, and the distinction between public, professional, and private relationships.
  • Conflict Resolution: Practical strategies for navigating disagreements with peers, supervisors, or family members without escalating to aggression or withdrawal.
