Biography: Kaitlin Anderson is a communications professional with over six years of experience in various fields including engineering and higher education. She currently works as a University Communications Specialist focusing on social media in the office of University Communications and Marketing at Georgia Southern University. In her role, where she has been for over three years, she manages the day-to-day of the university's core social media accounts including Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok. Kaitlin also works with additional university departments on their social media on an as-needed basis with regard to content creation, curation and strategy. She produces stories for the university newsroom and internal newsroom, manages the University Events Calendar and trains others on the platform, manages the university's Merit account where student achievements are published, and serves on the Staff Council as a representative for her department. Prior to her time at Georgia Southern, Kaitlin worked in business development for a national engineering firm, led the Her Campus chapter at her university where she grew a team of three into a team of 30 and boosted the chapter from unranked to platinum level, and worked with the Tampa Bay chapter of the United Nations Association to build promotional materials, manage social media, create educational presentations and more. Kaitlin holds a bachelor's degree in mass communication with a concentration in news/editorial journalism and a minor in psychology from the University of South Florida and an associate's degree in mass communication from Hillsborough Community College where she was a part of the Honors Institute. She is currently working toward a master's degree in professional communication and leadership which she expects to complete in May 2025. Beyond her professional endeavors, Kaitlin has a passion for travel and language. She enjoys gardening and spending time with her family and two rescue pups, Hailey Rae and Piper.
