Course Detail: COE102 - Diversify Your Bookshelf: Defining, Finding, Evaluating, & Teaching Multicultural Children's Literature
Participants will explore the diverse world of multicultural children's literature and its role in the classroom. Participants will learn what multicultural literature is, why it is an important resource to provide for all students, resources they can use to find high-quality texts, and how they can incorporate these books in their teaching both to facilitate students' literacy development and increase their cultural understanding of the world around them. This module requires that participants have access to children's literature through a school or community library in addition to internet resources.
