Course Detail: CE--FWP - Food & Wine Pairing with Good Life Guy
While you can eat most anything with whatever wine you like, a little bit of knowledge and practical experience will go a long way to enhance your enjoyment. Each class will feature at least 6 wines to try with different small food items.
CLASS - 1
The Cause and Effect of Wine and Food Pairing. We will review the basic aromas of wine, the primary tasting mechanisms and how our olfactory and gustatory system interprets the things we smell and taste. We'll discuss cooking techniques, experiment with several different food items, spices, herbs and seasonings and their interaction with wines both white and red. Your nose and palate will leave this class tuned and ready for the next two classes.
CLASS - 2
This class will focus on white wine and the foods that are enhanced by them. You will taste several different white wines and pair them with small bites selected by Guy. From bone dry high acid whites to soft plush off-dry wines, we will explore the effects of different grape varieties, winemaker technique, the use of oak and how they work in concert to form an agreeable pairing.
CLASS - 3
While similar to the white wine class, our focus will be on noble red grapes that make red wine perfect for an array of food items. From rich savory reds with integrated oak nuance, to soft plush red blends we will taste and explore in an effort to find the perfect match.

You must be at least 21 years of age to enroll.

Cancellation Policy

We will refund 100% of your registration fee if the class you wish to take is full or if the class is cancelled. A student who withdraws a minimum of 24 hours prior to the first class will receive a registration refund less 15%. Failure to attend class does not constitute withdrawal. All withdrawals must be received in writing and postmarked prior to the first class meeting. No refunds will be issued after the first class meeting.
