Course Detail: CE--GPFAPSG - Great Plants for a Prairie-Style Garden
Prairie-Style Gardening is a trend for the 21st century: think of The Lurie Garden in the Millennium Park in Chicago, the famous Hi-Line Garden in New York Cityand The Piet Oudolf Entry Border in the Toronto Botanical Garden. These type of gardens attract butterflies, bees and insects while saving the prairie plant communities for the future. Water usage is decreased as is weeding while presenting stunning colors, the swaying motions of grasses and striking architectural forms. In this class you will learn how prairie-style gardening canbe done in a small garden setting. Plant materials that are available to us in this area as well as the planting techniques and examples of such gardens will bepresented.
